Saturday April 15th Show Topic: City of Bellevue Police & The Minority Community– THANK YOU to my Special Guest: Steve MyLett, Chief of Police, City of Bellevue

Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett
Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett has been leading the department for just over a year. Photographed at the Bellevue City Hall and Police Station Thursday April 11, 2016.

Great conversation with the City of Bellevue’s Chief of Police, Steve MyLett.  I was joined by Dr. James Gore and we talked with the chief about some of the pressing issues facing law enforcement in this ever changing community.

Bellevue now has more than fifty percent minority population.  Steve and I spoke about how the Bellevue Police department is working to build relationships with the minority community.

Chief and I shared great dialogue and I know you will want to listen to the podcast if you missed the show live April 15th at 1PM on 1150AM KKNW.  I would love to hear what you think, so please leave comment.  Thanks again!

Talking Points for the show:

  • How will the recent immigration enforcement policies ordered by the current administration affect the Bellevue Police?
  • What are the plans for recruitment of minority police officers in Bellevue?
  • Share information about your plan to build a bridge to bring minority communities together with law enforcement to help improve  relationships
  • Body cameras in Bellevue?  are there plans to adopt them?
